This is the progress on the road today.

There are now 2 cranes on the road. One for the private builder, and one for BIK woningen / maisons. The BIK woningen / maisons crane was moved from another site about 2km from this one.

The project is close to the centre of Everberg.

The closest shop is Stonemanor. This is a British supermarket. To see the shop, www.stonemanor.uk.com

If you are interested in building and renovating houses, a place to visit in Belgium every year is Batibouw. Look here for the link to Batibouw. www.batibouw.be

BIK Maisons/Woningen is a land selling and house building company. They build houses via the traditional construction methods. One day, we can write more about what traditional construction methods mean.

They have a website, www.bik.be

Work however progresses very fast on house 2, which is being constructed independently. So on the same street, same weather. So it is very clear, that building a house on DeCosterstraat, Everberg, takes a different time depending on who you work with. You need to be patient with this project.

So far, the only building on our plot is this temporary toilet, placed by the building company BIK - without any permission.

Everberg, is a small flemish village. It is half way between Brussels and Leuven.

Our land is on a new street, De Costersraat. At the moment, there are 9 houses to be built.

2 of the houses have started building with BIK. This is house number 7.

Our Everberg House project started in February 2005.

In July 2006, we purchased our land.

In November 2006, we got our planning permission.

The groundworks will start in May 2007.

Acceptance of the house, end of 2007
